Slim (“Slim”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a photo and video compression app that runs entirely on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App does and does not handle, and your rights over it. We have written it to be accurate and plain — if anything is unclear, email us at slimappsupport@gmail.com.
The short version: Slim has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Your photos and videos never leave your phone. The only data that exists at all is the anonymous purchase record Apple and our billing provider need to keep your Slim Pro purchase working — never your name, and never your media.
Slim is developed and operated by the developer of record listed on the App Store product page (the “Developer”).
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Developer is the “data controller” for the limited purchase data described below.
All compression, similar-photo detection, and metadata handling happens locally on your device using Apple’s own on-device frameworks. Specifically:
We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any of the following:
Slim offers an optional paid upgrade, Slim Pro. To sell and validate that purchase, two third parties process a small amount of purchase-related data. We never receive your identity from them.
When you buy Slim Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment and manages billing, renewals, and refunds under Apple’s own privacy policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). We never see your credit card, Apple ID, or contact details.
We use RevenueCat, Inc. as our billing/subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat validates your App Store purchase so the App knows whether Slim Pro is active. To do this it processes:
RevenueCat acts as our data processor and does not use this data to advertise to you. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
In App Store privacy-label terms, this is the only data “collected”: Purchase History and a Device ID (anonymous) — both used solely for App Functionality (keeping your purchase working), not linked to your identity, and not used for tracking.
The purchase data above is used only to:
Where GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (delivering the Slim Pro features you paid for) and our legitimate interests (securing the purchase system and preventing fraud).
Because we operate no servers, we hold no copy of your media or personal data at any time. Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase records for as long as needed to operate billing and to meet their legal, tax, and accounting obligations, per their respective policies. The anonymous purchase state stored on your own device is removed when you delete the App.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any data. Purchase data is shared only with the processors strictly required to sell you Slim Pro — Apple and RevenueCat — as described in Section 4. We may disclose information if legally required to do so by valid legal process, but as we hold no personal data or media, there is effectively nothing of yours for us to disclose.
RevenueCat and Apple may process the limited purchase data in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) provided by those companies under their own privacy programs.
Because Slim collects no personal data on any server of ours, most rights (access, correction, deletion) have nothing for us to act on directly. Where you do have rights over the purchase data held by our processors, you can exercise them as follows.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Email slimappsupport@gmail.com and we will help route your request to the relevant processor. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not process it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email slimappsupport@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Residents of other jurisdictions with similar laws may contact us at the same address to exercise any rights available to them.
Slim is rated 4+ and is a general-audience utility. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). Because the App collects no personal data on our servers and requires no account, no such collection takes place. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal data through the App, contact us and we will address it.
Slim’s privacy-by-design architecture is its main safeguard: with no servers, no accounts, and no uploads, there is no central store of your data to breach. Purchase validation relies on the encrypted, industry-standard infrastructure operated by Apple and RevenueCat.
The App and this policy reference services operated by Apple and RevenueCat, each governed by its own privacy policy (linked above). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, but we selected them as reputable providers appropriate to a privacy-first app.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
